For my first post I'm going to list everything that I can think of on this spot, right now, that I could do better. This list will be added to in due course but I'm thinking it will give me an idea of what I need to work on to be better than Bob.
1. I waste too much time
2. I make too many bad decisions
3. I eat too much rubbish food
4. I drink too much
5. I procrastinate
6. I'm not fit enough
That has actually turned out to be a pretty short list but reading through the points, I'm thinking that each one is actually a category with a number of sub-categories that will hopefully be brought out as I continue.
It's noticeable to me that I'm not actually very bad in any of the categories, it's just that I know I can be significantly better in all of them. I also have a nagging feeling that there is one root cause of all of them that hopefully I can discover. (Is it just me?)
There are easy solutions to each of the points however I've been failing to improve each one for so long now that I need to do something drastic. So here it is, my life and fallibilities in a blog for all to see.
